Hollywood Holt is a star, and if you haven't heard of him yet, you better
believe you will soon. Hollywood spits his smart and funny rhymes at shows
all over the world, bringing people back to the more fun (but still
innovative) side of hip hop.
Hollywood Holt has always had his hand in everything at once. He's a
rapper, performer, break-dancer, DJ, and leader of Chicago's Murder Club
Moped Crew, and still finds time to party like a rock star. Holt has been
rapping ever since he could talk, spitting hot lines in battles as a kid
and freestlying for whoever stopped to listen. Nowadays, more and more
people are starting to stop and listen, and more and more people are
digging what they hear. Whether it's a punk rock crowd or a bunch of hip
hop heads, Holt is taking the music scene by storm and won't stop until he
reaches the top.
Around two years ago, Hollywood Holt found the missing link to complete his
persona. The link came in the form of his cousin, who is also his best
friend, DJ and producer, Million Dollar Mano. Ever since the two linked up,
Holt's game has been brought to a new level, creating an unstoppable,
addictive and fresh style of music that is infecting everyone who hears it.
Hollywood Holt listens to everything, whether it's punk, hip-hop, or none
of the above, and it shows in his own music. He loves Crass and The Clash
just as much as Eazy-E and Mos Def. He listens to The Bird and The Bee,
Trouble Andrew, and Young Jeezy. He doesn't care what you think about it
either, because he knows his many influences only bring his music to a
higher level than average hip hop.

"My thing is - I'm very, very, big into punk rock, so when I perform, it's like a punk-rock show, but it's hip-hop music. The way I rock is crazy. I just go off."
If Hollywood Holt had to be put in a box, you could describe his music best
with one word: "fun". When you hear a song from Holt, whether it hits hard
like rock and roll or beats with the bass of an old-school juke track, you
know it's him...because he raps about what he knows and feels. In his own
words, "I'm an artist - I'm a rapper, so it's like...I rap about whatever's
on my mind. A lot of people try to stick to a certain gimmick or a certain
style - like, 'I'm a rapper who talks about this' - but I'm a true rapper,
and I rap about whatever I feel like. So if one day I'm pissed off, I
write a pissed-off rap song, or if I get a new hat, I might write a song
about my hat. I just write raps about whatever I feel, and if I see
something happening - a social issue that I think I can shed light on, I'll
write a song."
When it comes to the future, Hollywood Holt has no limits. In fact, expect
anything and everything from Hollywood Holt. A punk rocker with a rapper's
wit and swagger, Holt is ready to rock your world and change the game, one
party at a time.
